Thought about it but decided to go to Planet Fitness instead. Can't beat $10 per month.

Given the title, I thought this was an ad.
You don't need much else than a power rack and some dumbbells I believe.

I had a home gym for a while, it was boring and lonely, and lifting in a dusty, un-airconditioned garage and getting sweaty was doing a number on my skin. I sold all my equipment on craigslist (for a $100 profit) and joined a gym.

I use anytime fitness, but I long for my own home gym, I'm a bit of a recluse, so I prefer to be alone, I get stoked when I walk into the gym and no one is there. As stated, all you really need is a power rack, I just don't have the room for it in my tiny apartment. When I buy a house that will be one of the first things I buy

          Soon...

^Yea I can't do LA fitness or anything like that anymore. Can't stand people looking at each other and not doing nuffin.
never needed anyone to stay motivated. just the equipment.
I figure, what you pay in a year with a gym, you might as well invest in equipment that's yours.
any known power rack names out there?

            any crossfit types here?
love the concept, but some exercises are just too silly for me.

I did crossfit for about 6 months, It was a lot of fun, but honestly, very stressful haha, as well as very expensive, they wanted almost 150 bux a month after the trial membership I had was up. I like being able to go to the gym and go at my own pace, not saying I go easy on myself, but doing 101 pull ups with 100m sprints every time you stop/touch the ground is a bit too much for me.

^Exactly my point on why it can be silly for me.
I used the concept and made up my own workouts after a while. Actually I didn't make them up I just mixed some routines around.
I think those jump stools would be great to have in a home gym.
Kettle bells, those are alot of fun.
some of you might get this, some of you might not. Once I got "smoked" with a 50lb kettle bell and I had to perform 500 reps of Kb swings.... never, will I forget that day.
