I hear ya, but I'm sooooo done with the zombie thing. Yawn.
And comic book movies. BatMan, SuperMan, BowelMovementMan. I can't believe grown adults jizz in their pants over that crap.
Putting all that aside...just forget I said that.....
I think the best movie of 2015 will be "The Martian" - if you haven't read the book, you're really missing out. I think (most)every r3v'er would like it. I won't spoil it for you, but it's about a guy that gets stuck on mars and has to figure his way off the planet. It come out in October. The audio book is amazing, if you have a commute, or time to listen to it - do it. I loved it cause it has a ton of tech in it - and keep your mind thinking the whole time.
As someone described it...you know that awesome part of the movie Apollo 13, where they have to make a way to make a square carbon filter fit into a round hole? That's kinda like it. Or you know - fitting a turbo on a m20. Same deal, right? ;)

If we're talking by release date -
Mission Impossible was very entertaining and rather good for a "summer" blockbuster movie, the motorcycle scenes were seriously impressive, likely my favorite I've seen thus far. Jurassic World - it was a nice throwback to the original that started it all.
Straight Outta Compton looks very good and is the next movie I want to see. The only people who didn't like it that I know probably don't get the fact it's basically a documentary of NWA (How not right?). What I mean by that is, how can you complain?
It's NWA's story, so if you don't care to watch a dramatized version of their story on the big screen, why did you go see it? I honestly can't fathom why someone would pay money and not be satisfied - you should have some idea what the story is about. How could they improve on something that the surviving members lived? It's theirs to tell and from what I've heard they wanted it to be as real as possible.
The Martian will likely be the best critically and from an acting stand point.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens - releasing December 18, 2015. I have complete faith in JJ, it could end up being my favorite of 2015.Last edited by DEV0 E30; 08-20-2015, 01:23 PM.Comment

I have yet to watch a movie from 2015. I'm not sure I ever saw anything made in 2014, for that matter not positive about 2013....
I don't care for modern movies.sigpic

Hate to be such a hipster but this. I feel like Hollywoof just puts well known actors in our faces and counts on us to enjoy cheap laughs. I'm pretty butthurt about all the comic relief they put into the Hobbit, unnecessary in my opinion. Or they just put flashy CGI in there and people call it 'epic'. It's the same rehashed plot lines over and over. Can't stand movies anymore.Comment

anabolice wtf do you do, you hate video games and think movies suck, do you just pork it to chimps sitting in your e30 all day?Hate to be such a hipster but this. I don't like video games either. Nor do I watch TV. What little free time I have is spent on my car or music, listening, practicing or composing.
And everything he said about movies is pretty much my thought. Hollywood just keeps rehashing the same ideas with the same actors and they all just seem so low-effort compared to movies of the '60s-80s. I'd rather watch Caddyshack for the 400th time than try to sit through the juvenile slapstick that passes for comedies these days. I know I sound like a jaded old prick, but maybe I am.sigpic

I partially agree actually but I'm just giving monkey man shit, I do enjoy video games though, modern video games with a great story are way better than a movie could ever be.Comment
