This wouldn't be acceptable in a race setting either. He basically attempted a "dive bomb" pass ... which never works.

Looks like a classic case of target fixation. Saw that he was going to hit the BMW, and his brain froze as panic set in. Instead of analyzing possible escape routes, he turned his car into a target locked torpedo.

I think my brain would freeze as my fist set in to his face. In all seriousness, no matter how you approach accidents, the other guy being stupid about it doesn't do him any favors
