Driving in Amherst NH last week a truck looking generally like a Defender 90 or a G Wagon passed me the other direction. It had a BMW roundel on the hood and looked oldish. Also had a safari style rack on the roof. Maybe I was mistaken but did BMW make anything like this? Sorry but didn't get a picture. I've Googled all over found nothing.

The closest you'll get is this. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bert...ne_Freeclimber
Assembled in Italy for European sales, this version called the Bertone Freeclimber used mechanical components by Daihatsu, although it was powered by a BMW 2,443 cc turbodiesel or one of two BMW petrol engines (1,991 cc and 2,693 cc), all six-cylinders, with a Bertone modified body.

Finally saw that truck again and as everyone indicated it was not a BMW. It was a Mercedes 280ge with some sort of special badge on the grille that definitely could be mistaken for a BMW roundel across several lanes of traffic.

Yea, thanks. I know, just haven't seen an older model like that on the road before, especially out of the corner of my eye going the opposite direction with a bunch of shit tacked on it.#30 Overengineer'd Racing - Wilton, NH
