Anyone have contacts or live in the UK? (NOT SPAM)

Just thought i would check and see if anyone has contacts with someone in the UK? I am considering purchasing a car and importing it to the US but would like for someone trust worthy to check it over and make the deal with the owner in person.

If I have to trust someone I've never met I'd rather it be a fellow R3v member. ;)

It's not something they typically do but you could call up Jaymic. They're vintage bimmer guys and I have worked with them for at least 6-7 years.

Parts supply specialists for classic BMW models of the sixties and seventies.

I know a few guys there, but they aren't on r3v.
I purchased parts from Sskoda on here and he was a solid guy to deal with, not sure he's into selling cars though, but I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.

Just curious though, why the import?
I considered bring my car over to the US, but wasn't sure I could handle the awkward drive thru moments, haha

I'll give them a ring and see if they would be interested. Thank you.

I'll shoot Sskoda a PM and see if he's interested. To me importing is a better option because I have a broader market for finding what I want at an acceptable price (even with shipping). I have considered a few cars that are already in the US but they command a premium and none have been "the one."

The overseas market has more to chose from and I can take my time finding the right one. The only thing I need to find is someone trust worthy and willing to take a look at the car, make the deal with the owner (and get required paperwork), and then hang onto the car just long enough for me to arrange shipping. I already have most of the details in place - just need the car and a willing soul.

I found one the other day that is beautiful and i have exchanged emails with the owner several times. I asked for some more detailed pictures and the exact mfg date.

            Sskoda is a quality guy

Bought many parts from him, most notable were a set of Smilies. Came well packaged and arrived from overseas in less than 4 days. He even foot the bill for some extra mount pegs for the adjusters when one of them arrived damaged

Seeing and managing an import might be a little over his willingness, but I would not be surprised if he doesn't mind helping out

Message to Sskoda has been sent - according to his Bio he is in Northern Ireland. Depending on what he says, I guess I'll start looking around up there. ;)
              Thanks guys

The search continues.... I talked with Sskoda and being that he is located in Northern Ireland he wasn't able to help with stuff in the UK. Haven't heard from Jaymic.

I figured this would be a long shot - asking someone to help a stranger with a pretty decent purchase would make me leery too. Especially not knowing what the potential time commitment would be.
