Making $30-$40 isn't worth it when it costs close to $10 per transaction lol. Penny stocks also aren't worth it. You'll learn that after you get waffled on a few trades. Do your DD and long term is MUCH safer.
^^^^ +1 on having $ to start. 25k is a bit high IMO though. $5k is just fine.
Anyone here into trading?

I think the concept of "making money" is relative to what you put in. If you want to make decent returns (now this is entirely hypothetical), you need large sums to start with. $25k is on the low end but is a good start if you want to actually make money.
But hey, what do I know.Leave a comment:

You don't have to be that high to make money on day trading.Leave a comment:

You need to have $25k or more in an account to day trade, plus you'll need to have a margin account so that you don't have to wait for your transaction to clear before making another purchase. Not getting there with $50...Leave a comment:

i feel like long term is difficult to scope, you have to invest a lot to make a lot or get in super early. if you do your homework and find some 8/9/10 cent stocks that are bouncing, you can buy like 1k shares for $100, and catch it on the up bounce, sell out at 13/14 cents a share and make like $30 or $40 bucks, or if it keeps going down and you sell at like a cent or two less its like a $10-20 loss.
day trading is more of a gamble. but who really has money to spare for stocks that are like $20-$50 a share. i would make like $10 in a few months time if it went up.Leave a comment:

Do not day trade unless you 100% know what you're doing. It is not worth the stress.
Also, penny stocks...there are a reason you don't hear about penny stocks when you take investing courses. Sure you can make 100% in a day, but you can also just as easily lose 150%.
Do your DD and invest wisely.Leave a comment:

Day trading is scary. I used to daytrade bitcoin but the amount of stress that came with these incremental changes in market price are not worth it. Buy stock and stay in it for a longer period of time (6 mos, 1 yr, 5 yrs, etc.) If you are adamant about trading, utilize programs that trade for you. Set buys and lows to how you see fit and watch the program do it's thing.
Holding onto bitcoin for a year was a far greater strategy for me. I came out $20k on top of my initial investment. It was nice.Leave a comment:

yeah I put 50.00 in with my TD ameritrade account to start, I don't plan on pumping anymore into it, just play with pennys and see what I can make out of 50.00 in a year.Leave a comment:

Use investopedia for practice , I'm playing around on robinhood since the trades are free, just using $20 and working up slowly on penny stocks for nowLeave a comment:
