I am not sure really how I got into transformers so much considering it came out (the movie) when I was 2. I think i saw it when I was like 8 or 9 I rented it, and I was super sad when Optimus died.

Though, realistically, if soundwave was still a boombox shooting out cassettes it would just look silly next to todays technology.

I'm with Josh, screw what looks avant garde, Soundwave was the pimp, and the cassettes became the forward recon panthers / raptors - why screw with a good thing? The AA size battery / bazooka on his shoulder was all the gun he needed, not some CD tosser.

Megatron as a ship? Pleeeeze, NO! There were a few episodes of the show where it took only a few shots of the Megatron gun to cause some real havoc - it screws it all up to make him anything else.

Next thing they'll say is that Starscream was a trans-gender, only good reason for that annoying voice and the constant nagging & plotting like a woman.

Sounds like I'm buying the old school DVD's and boycotting the movie.
