I like the pre wide body wrx hatch. Looks sleek and it's still a pretty fun car. If I had to get a subaru that be it for me, or a 2.5rs -
My mom had a 2001 Outback with a 5 speed manual before being replaced by an e46 touring. Great car. Really reliable. 190k on stock clutch. 250k miles before the HG popped.Leave a comment:

I think it's 2011 or 2012 when the WRX went to the widebody and got faster in the 1/4 than the STI. They are very impressive.Leave a comment:

Not the same model but I just looked at a 2011 wrx. I was sold on it after driving it but I thought they would have had more room and it was lightning red which I wasn't a huge fan of. Nonetheless Subarus are cool.Leave a comment:

This is very true, but the 2.5GT wagon with a manual is a VERY rare car, as they quit selling them stateside in 2007 and only started in 2006 if I'm remembering right. Great car but might be too old now to be a CPO car.+1
Really like the 2005-2007 legacy wagons/sedans. My uncle has a silver 2006 legacy 2.5gt wagon with a 6-speed and it's a pretty fun car. Theyre reliable and boosted, I think one of the only common issues is wheel bearings. 3rd gen legacy's had HG issues but the 4th gens really don't. I have a thing for wagons and wanted one before I bought my e39 sport wagon

My 95 Legacy (manual, wagon, 2.2) was a tank, it was the most reliable car I have ever owned. Slow, but could embarrass much more sporty cars when there was snow, or in the twisties when it had ASTs.
My family has had 04 and 07 non-turbo manual Outbacks, they're great cars in their own way. Of those three generations, I vastly preferred my 95 to drive and to own. No HG issues and incredibly tolerant of user shenanigans. I am tempted to find a 2.5gt/manual/wagon and see if the turbo engine cured the rest of the grievances I had with our 07.Leave a comment:

Might get a subaru, ideas/ thoughts?
Some of you may know I daily my moms 2009 cooper clubman s and it's great but they are open to us selling it/ trading it in for a subaru of the same value. It will probably fetch about 11,000. I'm mostly interested in a blob eye but has anyone had good or bad experiences with certain models? I'm going to search subaru forums as well but r3v always seems to have solid advice.
What subaru would you get for $11,000? no CL, certified pre-owned?Tags: None
