So I need some new books to read/listen to at work. Anyone have any suggestions?

    What are you into?

For non-fiction, I'd suggest what I am currently reading.

    http://www.amazon.com/The-Devil-Whit.../dp/0375725601

    Devil in the White City

I tend to get all my books from ebay. This was under $5 shipped.

    A favorite book is:

Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do

If you're into Science Fiction, check out Enders Game. Card has built a vast universe off of the book.

I just found out about Earth Unaware, Earth Afire, and Earth Awakens. The three tell the original story of when the Formics invaded. I ended up reading all 3 in about 2 weeks. There are another 3 coming out this year that cover the part of the first war that is spoken of in Enders Game.

I almost made a new thread about it, but decided not to, so I'm unloading it here. Seriously though, if you like SciFi, it's a must.

      Also,

Armor, John Steakley. - Very cool Sci-Fi with an interesting back story. He never finished the sequel before passing, and it will never be released because no one wants to screw up his story.

And the other two mandatory reads.

1984, George Orwell (Thank you TME30 for pointing out my idiocracy)
A Brave New World, Aldous Huxley.

I finished Ready Player One recently. That was a pretty fun read.

The Martian if you haven't already.

I read One Second After a while ago and I'm about to pick up One Year After as well.

I have also been trying to get through the Seven Eves audiobook. It's been a tough one for me.

                          Also The Dark Tower series.

I've heard great things, only made it about half way through Gunslinger. Can't remember what happened I just never finished it, but I was sucked in.

Now that it's brought up, I think I'll go snag it from the library this weekend.

Try 'Leviathan Wakes'. Its the books that 'the expanse' syfy show is based off of. Wicked good. I read it to go to sleep, but usually realize that I just read for 3 hours.
