Saw it last night at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. I guess it's been going on every Friday night for years, I just didn't know about it. It was pretty fucking awesome. The beginning was cool because it started with just some lame red lasers making small images. Then when "Speak to Me" transistions into "Breath" BOOM! it changed to a huge ass spiral made up of a bunch of different colors that filled the whole laser dome. It literally felt like I was flying through a psychadelic worm hole. And for those that are wondering, I did NOT do this with the help of any illegal substances... but maybe next time :). I recommend paying the 8 bucks and go see it Friday nights at 9:15. No 2 shows are the same so it definately has some replay value. They also have Laser Beatles, Laser Floyd: The Wall, and Laser Zeppelin.

I don't know if you are familiar with SACD (Super Audio CD), which is Sony's "new" CD format. Will not play on standard CD players, but is basically the same spec as DVD.
My Samsung DVD has SACD playback, as well as DVD-A.
The only drawback is the SACD format shuts off the digital output, so you must have a reciever that will handle a 5.1 analog input.
About 3 years ago, the boys from Pink Floyd, along with Alan Parsons (original producer) got back together and re-mixed "Dark Side", in true 5.1 surround, for SACD. A few bits and pieces were added, but basically, the same disk.
Let me tell you, it is amazing. I have seen the lazer show as well, in Portland and San Diego (I left there in '88, it has been going on a LONG time.) I can tell you, if you get the chance to hear that SACD, get on it.
Appartently, the new SACD is hybrid, so it can be played on standard CD players, just not in true 5.1.
Now I want it in new vinyl!
Glad to see my generations' music still respected.
Good to hear you enjoyed it.

Pink Floyd is more than just music to me, it's an experience. I feel the same about electronic music.

The Wall-1979
If you are in your early 40's, you were a pre-schooler when they released their first album, in middle school for Dark Side of the Moon and finally old enough to drive for The Wall.
Maybe it's music for the "generations"
