As bad as it is that video didn't bother me. I swear my generation is numb to death/gore/disaster.

All of you that are questioning our government should. I question everything. I'm serving my country right now and I still question what our government is doing.

I hope that was not real - If it was....I hope the family can accept that we all are listening to the last words of a loved one. Not something I would want.

Only reason I second guess it is because all the it-was-a-conspiracy dumb asses out there. You can't escape it, the other day I was waiting in line at 7-11 to buy some gatorade, and the clerk stops what he is doing to go to the back room just to get some "conspiracy"(spelling?) video out from the back room. "Oh man." he says, "It was all rigged by one of those companies that blow up buildings." He continues..."Did you see how each floor collapsed? It was like there were 'charges' set on every floor - boom boom boom."

"Take a fucking physics class dumb ass." and I pelted him with gatorade. (ok not really - I paid for it and left, I was too annoyed and too thirsty, and didn't want to spend the night in jail) soo...

I took my father's advice "Never argue with drunks or women, you get no where fast." (or I think that's what he said...) Maybe it was "drunks and dumb asses" - at this point in my life it means the same thing...

Yeah, it's neat how the US is the only country to have detonated nuclear weapons in a conflict, yet we act as though we are the only ones who can use them responsibly! Other nations have the absolute right to question our nuclear two-facedness. Since we are no longer viewed as a beautiful, righteous nation by a large part of the world, it should be no surprise that our services as WorldCop are less desired these days. More and more the feeling is that we are the ones who need to be policed!

My thoughts exactly! Weird as it seems, just think about this- Say for example that a European country decides that Bush is awful, and needs to be removed from power, which many people all over the world believe, never mind just the US! Well, think about that country invading the US and forcing us out of our homes, even executing whole villages as payback. Also, detaining people w.out trial, and without having to abide by the Geneva convention.
Kinda weird when you think of the shoe on the other foot, huh? Especially since most of the world hates the United States and Bush...

I love my country, but I also know that a lot of awful stuff has takn place even the just the 20th century alone. Ever wonder how chemotherepy came about? Well, there were American ships loaded with mustard gas to be used in Europe in WW2, and they were bombed in route. Docs discovered the odd effect on cells, and voila!
Neat, huh? U.S never using chemical weapons..... Or maybe the whole reason why we are in Iraq? I was in the Army, and I still don't know why we are there...

The guy whos voice you hear on the video just found out about the afterlife. You know if you follow the bible and there is no god, then there is nothing lost and you lived a life trying to help others and strived for a better life. IF you do not believe in the bible and god, and you die, there is a God, then its to late to repent. I see it as an answer to questions that no one can answer. And it works for me!

Hmmm....what you are outlining is an agnostic view. Since you hint at no true faith in your post, but instead use a CYA doctrine, you are in effect saying "you can't know". Might as well go with the flow. Who knows, they might be right, but if not, no biggie.

There are a lot of sides to faith. I love pointing out that Jesus' actions during his life certainly would brand him a liberal. Acceptance, tolerance and forgiveness as well a healthy questioning of established authority are things that make conservatives squeamish, but there he is, God's son, acting like a damned liberal! Good thing Paul (an ex-Pharisee legalist) came along and set it straight! Screw that acceptance shit! Cut your hair, talk the way WE do, act the way WE do, or you will be cast in the lake of fire...George Bernard Shaw once said "no sooner than did Jesus topple the elephant of superstition, than Paul did boldy set it on it's feet again".

Some airport bible thumper once told me "his was the religion of Jesus"! I said, "so you're a Jew!" He turned red, but I said "the religion of Jesus was Judaism!" Jesus never said he came to start a new religion...

I'm not a Jew, BTW. I have no ax to grind with bible thumpers, either. But any "religion" that condones violence, hatred and aggression as somehow serving God's interests on Earth (presumably he can take care of heaven himself. After all, he is omnipotent, right?) will have no ground with me. That goes for Fundamentalists of any stripe. Islamic or Christian.

Oh and it's OK to not need to have all the answers. It's called "the Mystery of Faith". :)

Slightly OT, but does anyone around here find it at least curious that one of the key companies hired to remove the debris from Ground Zero was Controlled Demolition Incorporated?

I don't know what happened on that day, but I have learned to be somewhat suspicious of a government that has been caught in lies too many times throughout our nation's history.

Remember the 50's? Radiation won't hurt you, just duck and cover. Through the Cold War(gotta fight the Communists) and Vietnam( gotta keep fightin' 'em!), through the funding of Osama during the Soviet/Afghani conflict when he was our "friend", up until the vehement denials that there was a serious air quality problem in NYC after 9/11, to the secret CIA flights, we have a series of obfuscations, omissions and outright lies. Now we have reports of many with respiratory problems associated with the fallout from the collapses.

Not a record that inspires trust. :sad:

I agree, but history tells me to take everything with a grain of salt. There are lots of things that you never heard about on the news. And, unfortunately as Americans most of us forget 9-11 almost entirely. It really is sad.
Even when I was on active duty in Missouri, there was not even a simple ceremoney or anything, in fact, our day went on as if it never happened. Thats sad, and thats also when you start to question what your fighting for.

As much as I firmly believe that Bush is corrupt and Cheney is both corrupt and to a certain degree evil, no way the government foisted 9/11 upon us.

When they lie to us, they do it to our faces.

Will they recklessly go to war on flimsy evidence, finding "proof" where there isnt any, yes?

Will they allow our energy policy be manipulated to serve the(ir) interests in oil? Yes.

Is it any wonder Bush was close with Ken Lay, the Enron CEO? No.

Will they manipulate the electoral process? Yes.

Will they give ridiculous no-bid contracts and turn their eye to out and out theft by Halliburton and others in iRaq? Yes.

But, as bad as those things are (especially the war), no way they were behind 9/11.

I have just watched this video. It does raise some interesting points.

It would be interesting to watch the confiscated video camera footage from around the petagon(other than just the 5 frames, aswell as witness accounts from hotel workers) and the information that boeing would not release.

Peronally, i would side in favour with the theory, but if the tapes are released and proved otherwise, i would be more happy to change my opinion. Why is the government withholding this information if they have nothing to hide?


I wish for the turth only to be known. So all the victims can RIP and Famlies of those affected will have true closure.
