    M20 engine $ value ?

Im swapping out my m20 engine , 150k miles ( runs perfectly), for an S54.

Does my old m20 have any value? If so, suggestions on where I could sell it, and what I should ask for it?

"I" engine, yes. Craiglist or in the classifieds. $400-$1000

"e" engine, no. Toss in your neighbors pool. $20-$50

Paid $250 for an m20b25 up in Jersey almost 5 years ago.

Since that time it appears they have about doubled in value....

Considering they are practically indestructible (block at least) then anyone with one never really needs to replace it. Its always a measure of what is cheaper, a replacement m20 or a rebuild or swap for something more modern,... And each day things that are "better" get cheaper.

I vote boat anchor. If it is an i with the 885head, sell it to some poor soul who neglected replacing their timing belt in a timely manner and is now facing the price for their mistake.

If you pass on boat anchor, then CL for local $300-600 and it should move within a few months time. LOL
...what hasn’t been done to an m20 yet?

              ...depends.

You can unload the eta rods for a decent amount because they are needed for some stroker builds. Also, the pan is worth some money as well. The block is the same whether B25 or B27, and some racers like the eta style oil filter adapter. Sometimes you can find a buyer for the crank.

If it's a B25 (i motor) and depending on the condition, you can unload it complete for a couple Franklin's. If it's not, the crank pulley, balancer, and related motoronic gear is worth a decent chunk on eBay. The 885 if not worn out is worth another $100 at least. You can also unload the pistons and rods on eBay for another $100. The small bits can also be sold.

It just depends on how much time and effort you want to devote to getting money out of it...
