If you live close enough you should go check it out and see if you can find the real VIN# there's a good chance it's been stolen & resprayed.

I actually placed a bid on the car and got an email from robertandtara (who is actually ritalin on this site) from my understanding. i don't see why you guys are making a big deal out of this, here in georgia if the car is over 20 years you dont need a title any way, so it wont bother me. Actually, nothing has got to match anymore on the car because of the age. The seller told me ritalin sells bmw parts and wanted the car for 100-300 bucks so that is why he went around emailing every bidder with a link to this message board in hopes to kill the bidding price.. after all the seller has been on ebay since 1998 with over 200 positive points .. all 100% - he cant be that dishonest, whatever happened must of happened with some kind of previous owner perhaps, i'm going to rebid this time and see what happens

Furthermore, why the hell would I want your 1984 318i for parts when none of them fit my 87 325i or 92 325i?

I don't care what state you're from registering a car or selling car using a title that does not belong to it is a federal offense.

I was searching for information on some BMWs and found this site - or should I say this post - it seems like you guys have time to spare. ebay sells 32,000 cars a day, between 500-600 3 series bmw alone n you guys have gotten caught around a seller who has nothing but positive feedback.

he did post pictures of the whole car and also listed it as a salvage title car - what was he trying to hide?? if he was trying to "pull something" he wouldn't of take pictures of the motor, steering, etc... like alot of people forget to put up. I guess the age really doesnt matter due to all the previous owners. most states like here dont take into consideration anymore the odometer, motor, etc... after 7 years and after 15 I think, you dont need a title either.

anyhow, i was going to ask if you guys knew of any good yards that have older bmws (a lot of them... 70s model)? any help would be appreciated.

If you seriously want to know then you need to research the differences yourself. But basically what everyone is saying is that you are being sold a car as a 1991 318i that is really a 1984-85 318i.

The owner is being ignorant even after multiple people have pointed out to him that he is misrepresenting a car. It doesn't matter what most states take into consideration. Swapping VIN numbers is against federal law no matter how old the car is or what state it's in. Anyone buying this car would have an easy civil case in court.

i've been following this thread only because i've gotten an email through ebay from ritalin as well. www.RobertandTara.com and robertandtara on ebay. I believe as well that he's trying to manipulate people to get stuff cheap that he's interested in. what's up with that..? i notice he sold on ebay his baby's items for $0.99 each... and on his website he said he's trying sell things on ebay to stay out of debt...

1,400 posts on this board alone? i guess he likes attention. he lives on this board more than anywhere else, beside his website listed on this board holds pictures of his family members but not his.. i wonder why.
