There are a number of well-known and popular beers from Oregon, including Dead Guy Ale (Rogue), Adam (Hair of the Dog), and Bridgeport IPA (Bridgeport).
Since the beginning of Portland's micro brewing movement 23 years ago, it has been known as the epicenter of America's micro brewing renaissance. In 2006, 33 microbreweries, more than one-third of the state total, were thriving in Portland. With 46 microbrew outlets, Portland has more breweries and brewpubs per capita than any other city in the United States. Many have won nationwide and international acclaim. Oregon also has the most breweries per capita in the state than any other state.
The Oregon Brewers Festival will be nineteen in 2006 and is the largest beer festival in North America.

Ahhh god how did I forget Rogue!! It's my favorite place to stop for a bite in Newport :) The one I had there last time was super high IBUs... they only let you order one... also tried the chocolate stout and then a pint of some type of porter.. then I pranced around in the pouring rain while the locals peered at me through the storefronts until it was dark ... fun times..~Jessica~

Fred's aging himself with his drinking preferences. Glenlivet FTW. Just kidding Fred! Beer is one of my favorite things ever. Round here I would have to go with a Harpoon IPA, Dogfish Head 60-min., and Long Trail. I have heard some very good things about Oregon micros. Too bad they don't ship them out this way.

Ha! Chalk it up to the seasonal change, but I had some Glenlivet a few days ago. Scotch is pretty damn good when it's cool out and you want something warming.
When the weather's hot though, few things beat a cold one, especially on tap. Unless you happen to drink from a bad tap, like I did earlier this summer. I had to rinse my mouth out with some Sam Summer at another bar!
