        Wrong.

If you have a PC...just search VersionTracker. iPod2PC I think is the name of one that does it.

If you have a Mac...congratulations, you're not an idiot. Go to VersionTracker and download PodWorks.

itunes is a good program, but it's stupid how they don't let you copy songs of the ipod. They went out of their way to make it so you can't do it directly through the program. I guess they wanted to stop pirating or something.

If you have windows, here's what I did. Plug in the ipod, open up "my computer", there should be a drive labled "ipod" or something, pretty much just open up the ipod like you would open up any USB drive. Change your settings so you can see hidden folders, then open up iPod_Control>music (this is all from memory, it should be something like that), then there's going to be up to 18 folders labled F00-F18 (I think). All the music on the ipod is going to be spread randomly in those folders.

The only catch: all the music files are going to be renamed from how their original file-names (e.g. kellyclarkson-shittysong.mp3) to a new random combination of four capital letters (e.g. TPQA.mp3). So if your music didn't have titles written into the file (depending on where you got them they may or may not) then they're going to show up on itunes or other music players named randomly. When I copied my music from my ipod onto my computer about ~20% of my music showed up with no real titles when viewed with itunes. Luckily I know my music so I can just rename them as I hear them.

If you're on a mac, I know there is a program you can download to copy the songs off an ipod. I don't use mac so I have never tried to do it, nor do I know what it's called. I have a sneaking suspision that if you know what you're doing you can get around the mac's "protect-the-user-from-themselves" OS and get into the ipod without itunes.

or just plug it in, browse it as a drive and drag and drop the songs to the hard drive.

Okay use itunes and Soundforge. Input must be "What U Hear" Hit record, then hit play in itunes. When done, save the song as an Mp3 and import it into your itunes as an mp3. Waalah. It works.

Whoever said you cant use Itunes is NOOBCAKEFUXOR.
