    Duties/Fees/Taxes on Items from UK?

I'm looking at purchasing at least $1,000 worth of merchandise form the UK.

Is anyone aware of the fees that would be requested upon receipt in the US?

    Thanks much.

How are you shipping it, and who are you getting it from?

When I imported like $3000 worth of parts from the UK, I actually made my own receipt and gave it to the customs broker that was handling my case. I claimed that the whole pile was worth like $250 ($5 each wheel, $3 each euro ellips set, redic amounts needless to say), and I only paid like $11 in tariffs.

I imported it through an independent importation firm in Portland, OR and it was shipping on a barge. I'm not sure what you'd be looking at when dealing with FedEx or UPS.

When I bought a full mtech1 kit from the UK I only payed about $150 I think, with no duties/fees/ or taxes. I guess it depends who you go through

Actually from a department store, I would imagine that they would be shipping fedex/dhl/ups. I'll have to check for more details.

        Thanks for your advice.
