Well, a modern, BMW (w/vanos) twin turbo 48V engine:

535/5250-6000

Max. torque lb-ft/rpm
550/1500-5000


5HP difference. 24 valves difference. I'm sure the newer one would be faster in the same car (torque is nice and all that), but still. imagine what that would sound like with a track friendly exhaust?

It's probably the closest thing to an S70/2 that you could practically get. Unless you get a newer, built up NA BMW V12. but still $$$$$$$$$$$$

Those are crazy, but TBH, I think I'd rather have a built NA V12. I don't think I'd know what to do with that kind of torque (in an e30).

I would keep the 75mm stroke and got with a billet crank. Pushing her up to 10,000rpm

Should be good for about 850hp

Funny - I remember reading a very convincing argument for going TO a single row timing chain.
