    72s had that gills you're thinking about. But they still had the better looking front end like the earlier ones. In 73 they changed the hood. And I think 75 is when they added the bumper guards on the front.

                          xj220 - Jag did a spectator race of them of indycar(nascar?) drivers .....Funny race - the car was too heavy to get around the track - and IIRC the tranny kept blowing up.

                            Twin turbo, 24 valve, V6 FTW.
