i actually have the paperback book titled "the good wifes guide" published back in the 50's. gotta be the same thing. its great. it tells how the wife should have a mixed drink ready at the door when the husband comes home from work and to schedule at least 1/2 hour for make up prep and looking good for when he arrives. man, those were the days

i had it on my 07 gsxr 750 for a while and never had any problems. my heal would graze it every now and then, but nothing major. i swapped it out for a full akrapovic system since the yoshimura is only a half-system and still retained the stock exhaust valve.

R65's are decently cheap. You can pick up one in pretty good shape for $2-3k.
Then just get an exhaust, new cafe style seat, drop bars, and take off all the paneling and you've got the makings of a cafe racer.

They're so cheap to keep up and modify it's unreal.

My buddy bought a '74 yamaha 650 for $400 in running order, and only spent $1400 on rebuilding the carbs, new exhaust, tires, shocks, brakes, wheels, paint, seat, and a few other things.
