          its apparent that under hard decel., the forward spoke deformed inward (because of being stretched) and THEN started to rub the caliper.






          edit: actually, that looks like an acceleration issue. interesting

              Here's a couple of other pictures.

              Original wheel is flat. Wheel in background.


              Deformed wheel. Calipers hitting the spokes, pushing them outward. You can see where the caliper it the spokes.
              Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

                              I think you got it backwards Lee, the wheel hit the calipers. Even if the caliper was loose (probably floating) it would be pushing itself AWAY from the wheel.

                              I think high cornering forces pushed the wheels in, and then the calipers rubbed on the inside of the wheel.

                              Besides, you aren't going to bend the wheel like that with the calipers rubbing, it just isn't possible.
