lol, 29.6 POUNDS PER DAY. Gas weighs about 7lbs per gallon. The average car burns 1.4x7=9.6lbs per day. Ain't it amazing how you can get almost 30 lbs of CO2 out of that?? Yep, those global warming guys sure know how to add.

^a pound of CO2 weights more than a pound of gas dumb ass.

Datsun/Nissan 240K I believe... was sold as a C110 Skyline in Japan. That shape is the rarest of all GT-Rs (that isn't a GT-R though)

That white Genesis at Fluid Motion is so fucking sick. For once, Hyundai has finally done something right.

              It's not that simple,

your taking all the carbon from the gasoline and through combustions, mixing it witht he Air (o2). therefore Getting mass quantaties of C content of gasoline + o2 mixed within the air.

Gasoline is 87 percent Carbon therefore 8.352 lbs of gasoline is Carbon.
Oxygen is .30% bigger than carbon, and there is 2 oxygens plus carbon in C02

therefore 8.352+2(8.352+(.30X8.352))=30.0672lbs in Co2 from gasoline combustion.

              Sorry to burst your bubble.

                Ummmmm

You for get that there is already most of that CO2 in the air to begin with. Since it dose not burn it comes out the tail pipe too even though it was in the orginal air charge before it went through the system.

Not to say, that the internal combustion engine dose not make SOME co2 that number that is posted is still very miss leading

This is true, but what it is assuming (the bias in the illustration) is that the car has PERFECT combusion, and if that is so all the gas Will ignite etc...

that being said the value will still be much closer to 30lbs than 7

you still cant make something from nothing especially when the greatest bulk of it is being turned into energy Hydrocarbons and O2 burn and convert to energy.

will be closer to 7, as you cant call the Co2 that is part of the initial mix as exhaust gas, and now a days in most cases the air coming out is cleaner than the air going.
