    New Member with lots of photo's (56k nap time)

    Hi RV3LIMITED. "HI THUMPER!" Ok got the weirdness out of the way.

    First me. Right now I live in Pittsburgh, PA but I just moved here and I will be going back in about 2 months or so to Houston, Tx. I was a mechanic for 4yrs at a mazda dealership. Now i'm getting my certification in computer IT. I have owned alot of my cars mostly datsun's but this is my first BMW. I'm 25 yrs old and I like cars, computers, women, mountain biking, skiing, and motorcycles. Not always in that order.

    I just bought an 87' 325e (11/86 to be exact). I won it on ebay and flew to california to drive it home. Right now I live in Pittsburgh, PA so it was 2400miles. It broke on me after the first few 100miles but after a day of wrenching it lasted the rest of the 2300miles.

    The car was not taken care of so i'm currently fixing alot of little problems. Unfortantely where I live now i'm not allowed to work on cars at all so i'm limited to interior work. (not even allowed to change oil) I have done alot of searching on this site and have learned alot already about this car. I have lots of experience with turbos and megasquirt so this is the way I'm definetly going. Probably an I head swap, megasquirt, supra injectors, t3 60trim (for spool), and 666 turbo adapter. After this i'm going to try to make this into a solo-II/track car.

    Who else is in or around Pittsburgh, PA?

              Actually it is a 74' 260z. I don't have any of those cars anymore but the red z had a stock internals besided headgasket and studs with megasquirt, holset turbo and alot more. It ran a 11.67@122mph (fastest stock internal l28) running out of rpms in 4th. A new diff or bigger tires I could have run low 11's easily.

              My goal for this bmw is mid to low 12's with a raceweight of under 2200lbs. It will be setup for track not drag racing so quarter mile is more of an acceleration/power goal.

                  Yeah I have had 5 of them and loved them all. I prefer the older 240z, and 260z's for racing and the 280zx for daily driving. This is my first BMW we will see how I like it in a few months when its more powerful and has less problems.

                    it was all cool til the miata pics ;) j/k- my buddy has one and it's quite fun at the autoXs (his isn't exactly stock suspension wise)... nice collection!
                    Sold my Sepang Bronze 1990 325is and miss it already

                      Most E30 "mods" involve a spray can. All of mine do, that's for sure.

                          Yeah yeah my miata girl car. But at solo-II events with my other rims it would eat ss class cars for lunch. Oh my miata wasn't stock btw. It ran a 15.1 at the track so it was all suspension. Only thing I hated about the car was the rear-end was an open and it was red. I do miss it though. I'm looking into getting the car a miata was meant to be a solitice gxp. 250hp 2800lbs and alot more masculine look.

                            welcome -- i guess u got a thing for inline sixes huh?- by owning those older z's, i know u have the patience & skill necessary when dealing with e30's .. good luck!!

                              Yeah I love the way I6's sound. But I don't know about the patience thing. Usually I get out my BFH and wack whatever i'm working on a couple times and it works.
