You dont know shit about what your talking about. America is going to go socialist just because of glbalization? There are three stages that a developed country progresses through. Agricultural society to Industrial and finally service industry oriented. America has reached the latter. It doesnt make us any less powerful or innovative. What does consumerism have anything to with it to begin with. I will give you that it seems the country is more divided now, but it would be the same way if Kerry or some other Liberal was president, if not more so cause he couldnt take a stand on anything.

The GOP doesn't take a stand on anything unless it's "politcally expedient"-a term used by John Boehner to describe why he flipped on support for a raise in the Federal Minimum wage.

Service industry oriented? In this country, in order just to maintain a standard of living above poverty level, a person needs to make $15 an hour. What service jobs are you talking about?

Oh and finally, the fact that your beloved conservatives have spent us into the biggest deficit in history means that we no longer hold our debt. This makes us less powerful, and unable to innovate, or to profit from said innovation because it's no longer an American company reaping the rewards.

The trade deficit can only worsen-you can't easily export a service...
