    A Legend

Just thought I'd let you guys know I just got back from an excellent show featuring the one and only Bob Dylan. Man was he amazing. 16 rows back on the floor. It's gonna be a while before I can top that experiance. Quite a show, but boy am I tired. Working at 5:30am on only a few hours of sleep and now I gotta be at work tomorrow at 6am. Well, hope some of you guys get to see him when he hits your town. Definately worth the $$. I'll try to post some crappy cell phone pics tomorrow.

I've been a big Dylan fan ever since a friend left a greatist hits CD in my car in highschool; which he didn't get back for some time. :) I'm up to 22 of his albums now!
I went to one show and had a similar experience, it's amazing! Putting a voice and performance with songs that started a new style in the early 60's is pretty powerful, IMO.

I will agree with Ken about Subterranean

          favorites!
          Series of Dreams
          Things Have Changed
          Changing of the Guards
          Song to Woody
          Shelter from the Storm
Thunder on the Mountain (Modern Times)

Nice to see others that appreciate his music/writing.

I caught Dylan live a few years ago at the City Stages Festival here in Birmingham.

He played the late afternoon time slot - just before a new band called "Evanesence". Anybody heard of 'em? :)

The chick singer from Evanesence kept talking about how blown away she was by Dylan. Dylan was pretty good live - he had just released the "Love and Theft" CD that year. I bought a copy after hearing some cuts on a road trip through Illinois that summer.

I had the Biograph 3CD compilation of Dylan probably before some of you were born.

              Bob is amazing.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (partied with these guys after they played a show in Lexington in 1989 or 1990 - they came to a friend's house after the show and had a jam session)
KISS - waaaaay back when I was in 7th grade
                        Van Halen

You saw The Police? Man Im not really into Sting but I think its the only time he was worth anything, and I saw the documentary that the drummer made from his home films (I forget his name right now FUCK), and I have a new respect for them. Andy's also cool. Did you see VH with Diamond Dave? either way, awesome. And back in those days RHCP was partying HARD. Hilell Slovak was still around?

Stewart Copeland is the drummer for the Police. And yes, I saw Van halen with David Lee Roth - the 1984 tour. Festival Seating with an open floor at HARA Arena in Dayton, Ohio - I was 13 at the time and we got in without tickets, and managed to squeeze our way up to the front, right in front of the stage. back in the day when you'd go to concerts and be guaranteed getting a contact high. . . . :-)

And Slovak was already gone when I met them.

I haven't seen too many "big" bands.

                              Bob Dylan
                              Coldplay
                              Moddest Mouse
                              Franz Ferdinand
                              The Shins
The Killers (they played with someone else, not the band I went to see)
                              and a few others

I am waiting for Radiohead to come to town cause I really want to see them.
