Good idea with the screenshot--I gave it 2 laps earlier, botched the first but the 2nd was 8:11.xxx. There is a lot of time to be taken off that as well

I have another idea about the rules, what my friends and i do is race what you brought no limit to what you've done. The only rule is no driving aids whatsoever this includes traction control and oversteer over steer controls. Anything goes and you pick the track and race, there for keeping the chances of someone cheating to a minimal.

Sounds like fun but having always been a fan of spec-racing, I think it would be more fun to compare lap times given an identicle car--that way it's all in the driver. We go by the honesty-policy regarding cheating.

          : )

So what are we doing, driving aids or no?
              Can we mess with downforce?

Traction Control is up to you. I don't use it.

NO downforce. That would provide a significant advantage on a high-speed course like this.

Let's try to stick to the 190e

Since the racing season is almost over, I am sure the CC.com GT4 challenge will be up shortly. There is usually 30+ people who are in it.

...8:15 so far. Are we playing the same track with the same car setup :p

Let's try the 'ring with the MBZ first and then we can move on to other cars and then pick another track.

The trick is to drive the slow car fastest before modifying just like in real life.

                          Stock MBZ
                          Oil Change
                          Eprom Chip
                          Stock tires
                          No other adjustments.

                            Yep, S2 tires.

One tip: On the first straightaway (the one where you get air in some cars)...stay flatout all through there. Lift for a split second to settle the front for the right-hand sweeper but stay WOT until the next right-hand hairpin.
That's a very fast section of track and you can make up a lot of time easily there.

BTW, We are assuming grass is a racing surface; but no cutting corners by taking the agricultural line. Like Trial Mountain, there are a couple places on the Ring where you can make a faster corner by taking 'the grass'....No cheaters here, think of it as a spec race. :)

How about you try not to play it John Deere Style?
