Sheesh, I really should respond to posts about people that piss me off while I'm drinking coffee. I get too worked up. I guess your right man, I SHOULD be more stress free. After all, my bills will just take care of themselves anyway. I'll lose my car, my house and all my possesions but I'll be relaxed. And cold...

Man, that dude pissed me off by saying that working construction is stupid. I worked construction for a while after I failed out of college, and the construction work is what got me BACK to college. That dude = fucking idiot.

yeah..... my favorite lines out of that whole mess were,

If you ask the people that know me, im a god for parts in California.
Tough trying to hook people up and they still dont want cheap parts.
Im not even here to make a profit, just help people out.
                  and then 1 page later...
for super rare used things mostly
ive made countless thousands on parts already

The saddest part of the whole thread? The fact that the mods locked the damn thing. Man I coulda' had so much fun with that!

For those of you who missed the thread on e30tech, here is my editorial from it. Sadly it was the only part I was able to find:

As a 21 year-old male who owns a BMW and hangs out with many people old enough to be my parents, I felt compelled to add to this thread. That, and I'm bored. :)

And for the record I have yet to attend college myself. This is not for any reason except that I have been busy and do not know what I want to study. When and if I go, it will because I want to come out the other side with a piece of flattened sheepskin that will further me in something I truly care about. Somehow my college professor father is ok with all this too... 8-[

Now, about the original topic: As I have read this, a for sale thread was posted and a prospective buyer asked to see a picture of an item he was interested in. The seller then went on a rant about trust and pricing that made very little sense in the context and even less sense out of it. Every subsequent effort by people on this board to make sense of what the seller was saying has resulted in a virtual eruption of rants touching on topics ranging from maturity to race to college and beyond. Also, somewhere in there, I believe there were requests made to keep the thread on topic...

I may not have been to college yet but I've learned a few things in my 21 years and some of them have been about people. Most of that was learned either while studying psychology or during a period I spent working as a salesmen.

The original poster was asked a direct and succinct question, he responded not with a direct and succinct answer but with a long an rambling statement about how mature he was and also touched the subject of price, which until that moment had not yet been called into question. Sub-conclusion: Seller is paranoid about his pricing, not sure yet about the trust.

From this point onwards the thread turned into a back-and-forth of people telling the seller to "chill out and answer the question" and the seller responding in a very "un-chilled out" manner about how relaxed he was because he was a "better person." Than me? Who's to judge? Than Adolf Hitler? We can only hope...

At this point I had to sit back and reflect on everything I had just read. Every direct and honest inquiry into the condition of the items for sale was met with a long rant that brought up several new issues, completely unrelated to selling parts for BMWs. The other thing that caught my attention was the constant mentioning (in a quite frantic manner) of how "un-stressed" of a person the seller is. The reason these to things struck me is because I thought they might be related. The manner in which the seller responded to questions struck me as a simple issue of paranoia and the constant mentioning of the "stress free" life made me wonder if the seller does NOT indeed lead a stress-free life and employees certain substances to aid in the reduction of stress? A common cure for stress is a plant called marijuana, the leaves of which can be smoked, cooked into food or brewed into tea. One drawback to the use of marijuana (besides the possible jail time) is the side effects which can include, but are not limited to lethargy, memory loss and paranoia. Aha, paranoia! Besides the basics, one of the common feelings people experience when using marijuana is the feeling that people are talking about them behind their back or that people know things about them that they don't actually. I think both of these were very well represented when the issues of pricing and age were brought up. Neither had been previously mentioned, and to the common observer age is not something that is broadcast on this forum. My conclusion? Stop being so freaking paranoid and tell me how much it would cost to ship the '88+ fogs to 03440. Also would you be willing to sell only one?
