The FX35 is rated for 17 city / 23 highway, but I guess that all depends on your driving habits.

It's a crossover SUV, so it's not meant to go off road. Maybe a dirt or gravel road, but that's about it.

Yeah, you hit it on the head. This thing is more sports car than SUV. In fact, many FX owners take offense if you call it a truck. This is the best all around vehicle I've ever owned, bar none. I've owned a few cars in my day, right Sweet Carl?

I average around 20mpg and for all this thing does for me in terms of performance and practicality(sp?), its fine by me.

Exhaust note- its ok, nowhere near the sexiness of the 45.

As for looks, I disagree but to each their own. These things have tons of potential. Case in point, VRT 500hp Twin Turbo FX35 with staggered 22 inch HRE's and Alcon's.

      Ugly my ass...

I think the FX is the best looking crossover. It combines a sort of butch looking front end with some really flowing sheetmetal elsewhere. It makes the Nissan Murano look like a POS.

I'd rather get the FX than an X5 or X3.

            They handle very well!
Brake well for a heavy vehicle!

Accelerate very well, the FX45 takes off like a bat out of hell.

            Fun car to drive!

Only downside is the tires wear quick
A remedy for that is the Bridgestone Dueler Alanza
            Or go with falkens.

The brakes usually wear out by 30k.
Not much can be done about that, aside from resurfacing and throwing new pads on.

BMW rented my mom one of those when she had a recall on her X5. They called her the same day we were leaving to Go up to Montana, So I ended up getting to drive that beast in the mountans. that thing was fucking fast, and it has one of the best auto trannys I have driven. I'm a big fan of the styling also. I think I will own one of those someday.
