Happy Thanksgiving

I've been getting those aches for as long as I can remember whenever I get sick, though. I get sick, and my whole body hurts, nuts included. But more specifically, the right one has been hurting for about a week, to the point where it hurts when I walk, sneeze or cough. I went to the doctor yesterday fearing the worst, but it turns out I've got an inguinal hernia. I just can't lift anything until the surgery. The doc told me I could still go snowboarding, I just have to go easy.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone's had their fill of hearing about my jewels...

Nah, it's in-and-out. They make two tiny incisions in your abdomen, then in one of them they stick a camera, and in the other one, they go in and fix it. You're out in no time, and you're down for maybe a day or two. Used to be they'd have to cut you open and really go in at it, and you'd be out for a few weeks.

And just to clarify, it's not my stones they're doing the surgery on, the hernia is just making them hurt. For those of you that aren't familiar with exactly what a hernia is:

I had that surgery when i had a hernie in high school from a rugby game. It's painless. Are they putting in a metal screen to prevent any future ones? they did for me. Also, I guess it depends on the person, but I was able to do pretty much anything (except lifting) the day of the surgery. Even had enough in me to get laid, so you've got that going for you.

and back on topic...I'm going to be eating in about an hour. Can smell the bird right now. Happy turkey day.

That's good to know man, thanks for the encouragement. I know it's a simple procedure, but I'm still kinda freaked out about it. Do they put you under, or just anesthitise the area and shield you so you can't see it?

I'm fine right now, and as long as I take some Aleve every 8 hours or so, it doesn't hurt. I'm definitely going boarding this weekend, I just can't go really hard. No terrain park or big air.

I was put under for the operation. And I'm told it took less than 30 minutes. Although, it sounds like I had less pain before hand. But with the repair and the drugs on top, you'll be feeling good when you wake up (well, whenever all of that nasty anesthesia wears off). with facial reconstruction, the hernia, knee surgery and tooth surgery, I was put under for surgery 7 times before I was 18. It is scary as there is a chance with any person that they will just not wake up. But the more I did it, the easier it became.

but, you should milk it for all it's worth. get as many perc's as possible. then tell them they make you sick and get some vicodin too.

How was boarding this weekend? I'm anxious to go up. I drove right by snoqualmie pass today and it got me very excited for whistler on college weekend.

I went to the beach for Thanksgiving. It was pretty nice - also saw some good street performers while we were there. Too cold to jetski, though. :-(
