    stupid, naiive, ebayer

I sent an email to a lady stating I would give her double what most of the items go for that she is selling, I wanted a vintage shoe-shine box by christmas.

first she asks me how to end the auction early...doesnt know how to do that.
then she asks how to cancel bids...not either.

then she sends me this today...

"I have decided, I don't want to sell the item this way, as it is against Ebay policy. I don't want to jeopardize my good standing with Ebay by selling against their policy. Sorry.
    ASH"

HAHA what a fucking dee dee dee retard. what does she think eBay is going to strike her down. I'm the one taking the risk, not her.

She might be retarded, but as a seller on ebay myself sometimes - I get offers to end auctions and I usually don't since you never end up with a smooth transaction like the people who just play the game - know what I mean? Freaking bozos who try to negotiate shipping after the fact, etc. It never seems to fail. Or else it's just my luck.
Even if she did end it, there are really only 3 working days left, 4 if you count Saturday - until Christmas. Did you really think you would get it in time anyhow?

    **shrug**

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

well when the item was listed and I asked her to do this it was 4 days ago... she is an internet nincompoop, only responding to messages once a day, if i sent her back a reply i didnt hear back til the next day, etc.

total bozo, it would probably take her 3 days to ship it anyways.

Oh - I see what you mean then. Yeah, a week would work with most intelligent people, but you're dealing with some real 'gifted' people from time to time on the fleabay.

Blunt - remember when Yahoo auctions were the big thing, and Ebay was the new guy? DO IT - start up BluntBay. Can we swear in the feedback? I can see it already " That S.o.B. is a kicka$$ seller" ... "This Mother Focker is a liar and sells crap knockoffs" ......DO IT - I want to sell there. Better yet, I'll start the Paypal knockoff company and we can split the profits from the commission.

If it was run by Blunt it'd be BluntGay and GayPal.

I've already got the customer service motto copyrighted for both companies:

paypal was an absolute monster before they were bought out by eBay...holding peoples funds all the time, stealing their money and not giving it back. if someone paid you for a laptop with a stolen credit card, and you sent the laptop out, paypal would then backcharge YOU for the money, and you would be out a laptop and have $1500 in fee's charged to your checking account (if you had it hooked up to it, or your credit car).

happened to a guy on www.termpro.com an old stereo forum I used to go too back in the day, what a huge nightmare.

First thing you've said all year that I agree with.

Don't worry, a new year is only 12 days away.

That sucks. Since I usually buy car parts on eBay, the sellers are usually pretty compettent with it--I figure if they can get it off the car intact, they've got some sort of skills.

I've ended auctions early, but I usually have the buyer send a tentative payment receipt first (I can't remember the technical name). It serves as an invoice without any cash being transfered, and it also works well when you're the buyer.

I remember back in the day when I owned my Hyundai (I know, fuck you) I emailed a seller to end the auction early and send payment for a radio out of an XG350, and the dude said he wanted to take his chances at auction. The auction ended without one bid, and the guy emailed me back practically begging me to buy it for my original offer. I was like, "nah dude, nah."

Who's to say the item didn't sell locally before the e-bay auction was done. Do they really expect you to ONLY advertise the item on e-bay??
