Is there any way (free way) to take videos posted online (like yotube) and extract their audio? There's some good concerts on there that I'd like to get on my ipod.

It's easy, you just have to record it in to another program that you'll likely have to download, Windows Sound Recorder cuts off after a minute and though it says you can convert to MP3, for some reason it's really not.Last edited by O 16581 72452 5; 12-25-2006, 11:21 PM. -
You could use Windows sound recorder. Just set the record in to stereo mix, hit record and play the video. It will end up in .wav format however. Will your iPod play .wavs?
Either that or find a recording program somewhere. I have a few, but non of them were free (well, they were to me, if you know what I mean ;) )
Edit: He beat me to it. And he's right about the one minute thing. I forgot. :( My suggestion is to find a free recording program.Comment

Try this program also, it's great for remastering your audio and simple to use.

Ok, so I am being lazy and instead of searching, I'm asking. I want to record the sound off a DVD I have of a concert. But, I don't want to sit and watch everything and make a new recording for each song. I'd rather start recording, come back in 2 hours and have it done, with everything on one huge track. Then, I'd like to split them into individual songs. So, what can I use to do this (in mp3 format)?
