    Snake Cage I Built

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of a snake cage my GF and I built for her snake. It's 6' wide, 18" deep and about 5' with the base that is detachable. It has glass sides and bottom, solid wood back and mesh front. We put 3 150w heat bulbs in the top and three under aquarium heaters on the bottom.

Some cool pulls we bought online:

The lighter wood is birch and the trim is oak, stained black. The top also two pieces and is hinged so you can open it and access the bulbs easier.

The snake is a Ball Python. You can kind of see him in the first picture in the water dish (left side).

    Nice job.

You must work construction because the only people that call pulls...pulls are those kinds of people. They're very nice.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Luke, I work until five, but I will try to call at lunch. I tried calling today but all I got was an answering machine. :(

Awesome cage! My buddy has a red-tailed boa that he keeps in our fraternity house. He fell asleep one night while drunk with the snake on his chest, he woke up, and it was gone. It showed up a month later crawling out from a hole in the wall. It was the middle of winter and the snake was obviously pissed.

Nice work, I like the tiki hut, nice touch. Is that mesh front going to be able to contain the snake? No possibility of it gettin out?

I built one a few years back, if I can find pics I'll post. I had a gorgeous Burmese, but the wife made me sell it not long after we had the second baby.

Awsome job. I have a 1 1/2 year old red tail boa and she will need a bigger cage soon as well. How hard was this to build? Are the temps and humidity easy to keep in the correct range?

The mesh is marine-grade mesh. It's pretty thick. There is no way he would get out.

From what she says, the cage stays the correct temperature, and there is a fountain and a water dish to keep the humidity up. I guess it does really well.

Oh, and the tiki hut was built by one of her friends for the snakes birthday.

Here's a couple pics of the Delphi, but I couldn't find the pics of the case. It was def. nowhere near as nice as the one you've built, but it was sturdy.

I was powerfeeding her and she was growing like a weed. I got her at about 28in. long, and w/in about 6-8mos, she was just over 6ft. long. She had gone through 2 sheds and was putting on the length. That's what scared the wife, and I had to get rid of her. :(

That's a nice looking snake. Too bad you had to let her go.
