gave the jeep a bit of an italian tuneup today. put some seafoam in the oil, poured the rest down the throttle body, let it sit for 10 mins, and drove off out of the neighborhood fairly hard. blanketed my whole block with smoke it was hilarious! if you haven't tried it yet, you should. i've done it on a slough of cars now and its a blast every time. 4.0L 126k mile jeep engine was the one that smoked the most, that was a beast!
I love seafoam

I've read alot of mixed reviews on Seafoam.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I have never heard it mess things up, however I have heard that it did nothing on some cars. But if there is nothing to clean/fix, then of course it will do nothing.
Most of what I hear though is it works great.Comment

i really just think that smoke is just the seafoam burning and nothing else.
someone should do a testYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

GM makes a similar product called "Top Engine Cleaner". Best stuff in the world for cleaning out carbon build up. The instructions say to use a vacuum line to suck 3/4ths of the bottle empty at 1/2 throttle, then idle, allowing it to suck the bottle until the car dies, then let sit overnight.
In the morning, startup will be diffucult, but TONS of crap comes out the exhaust. I have never had anything but success using this stuff, personally. Car always runs smoother, more powerful, etc.
I have only used SeaFoam once, but had the exact same results.

When i ran it on the 4.0L 126k jeep cherokee my ex was driving and when we took off I told her to give it more gas and make it go faster, it wouldnt! It was almost choking on itself or something getting all that smoke out! When we finally got going a good speed man it really smoked.
When we were done the jeep ran much much better.Comment

I recently did two can of this stuff at once...well here is what I did.
Suck half a can - then shut off (almost no smoke), let site for 2 hours
Suck rest of can (more smoke now) - shut off overnight didn't drive
Suck 1/2 can - (so much smoke I didn't finish the can, I had people comming out to the street thinking my car was on fire - looked like my sig w/o the fire)
suck final 1/2 can and car warmed up durning - Drove it hard TONS OF SMOKE.
how much smoke? Well my block is about 1/2 mile long, and a normal 2 lane road with 2 story building on either side. The smoke was about 12 feet high, and lasted the entire block of THICK white smoke....Good times.
Changes the oil the next day, topped off the gas with 91, and then drove to the smog station 4 miles away on the free way, when I got there I had to double back on the freeway and drive more cause the car WAS STILL SMOKING!!!
Finally after some had runs I pulled up to the smog station and passed with flying colors...

talking with an old car enthusiast, there are a number of things you can do, this one was interesting.
get a water bottle and pour it in! of course youll have to really throttle it up but thats it, just pour the bitch in.
this is coming from a guy who remembers (now i forget the exact details but) one of the major motor companies had problems with their engines in the 50's and the service procedure included pouring sand into the intake. this would score the valve seats for a beneficial outcome... what ever that was. what a mess that must have been.Comment

When my friend and I seafoamed his corrado, since the tailpipe is an oval and the motor is supercharged, it would blow smoke "O's"
