Did you really pull the m10 and put the m42 in in in like 2 hours?

I thought about swapping in a M42 into my 2002...but dismissed it pretty quickly.. and sold it for parts for my turbo car....

Do you have the cable that goes in the top jack of this pic, it should end in a USB connector.

Once you plug it, your win XP should say "new hardware found", once this happens one of two things can happen,

                      1) If your win xp says "your new hardware is ready to use", the camera should show up in "my computer" as a Removable hard drive, double click on it and start browsing the folders until you find the video.

                      2) Nothing happened, the go to control panel, and click on "add new hardware" and have winxp search it.

                      3) I after this, nothing happens, we can solve the problem easily, but first try this.

Why? An m20 would be a much better choice. In both a '02 and e21.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Well m42 is shorter and lighter, makes decent power, and in general its just something different.

Stock to stock its a 30 hp difference. How is it much better?

m42 swap requires much much more fab work than an m20, at least in an '02, dont know about the e21. It also has quite a bit more torque for the street. Now if its for a track car, then I agree with you. Of course if its for the track be a man, stick a S14 in it.
