I've found that, sadly, most people are fucking idiots.

And there are oh, so many ways to be an idiot.
I for example, lack common sense. I've literally run into parked cars, and I've caught myself on fire several times. That qualifies me.

On the other hand, I speak three languages (none of which I learned in school, none of which is Spanish or French, and one of which uses a different alphabet), and am conversant in the geopolitical forces that led to the collapse of the Roman Empire, right up to the time when Romulus Augustulus was forced to abdicate by Odoacer in Ravenna.

What I hate about the millionaire show is that there isn't enough pressure put on the contestants. They can take forever to answer the question and then they can choose to quit the game and take the money with them if the question is too hard.. Like if they answer the question and get to the $150,000 level, they should be forced to decide RIGHT THEN if they want to go on. They should not be allowed to see the next question and then say, "Ahh.. you know what.. that question is too hard. I will just take the $150,000 and leave.

If what you are saying is true, then they must have changed the rules recently. But for the most part, if you ATTEMPT to answer the question you will go back down to the last "threshold" level if you get it wrong. But as far as I know, the contestant can see the question, and he can even use up his lifelines before he is allowed to back out and take all of the money with him.
