    Paintball, anyone?

We got any paintballers here on R3V? I just bought my first gun and busted my paintball cherry on Sunday, had a fucking great time. I bought my bosses old gun. I need to buy a mask, a vest and a couple of air tanks, and a few other misc items, but I'm fucking hooked. We're going again this Sunday, and I fully intend to do some serious curb stomping this time out. Since I was the n00b last time out, they made me do a "Gauntlet run", in which all 15 of the other guys I played with took positions out in the woods, and I have to barrell though the middle of them as fast as I could with all of them unloading at me. Needless to say, I'm pretty fucking sore.

    Anyone else here play?

Here's a shot of my gun, it's a Tippmann 98 Custom with a Smart Parts Progressive barrell and a JCS Combat stock, we chronographed it in at about 360 fps max, but it's tuned to right around 320 fps. The paint on it isn't so great, it's peeling up around some of the hardware locations, so I'm going to strip it down pretty soon and paint it with black Harley-Davidson krinkle-coat paint, and replace all the hardware with stainless steel, make it a bit cooler looking.

I never got into it or tried it even but have had many friends play. I hear it can get really expensive and addicting.

I probably am going to play a lot, but I'm not spending a ton of money on all the shit that goes with it. My gun right now is about worth close to $300 and I got it for $125. I probably just need to get about another $100 worth of stuff, like a mask and air tanks, and some clothing, but that's as deep in as I'm going to get.

Congrats on picking up a new hobby/sport. I honestly havn't played in 3 years, I use to play woodsball and speedball. I had the same exact marker as you as well. The paint on mine started to strip as well so I eventually stripped the paint completely with this hardcore stripper that would make all the paint boil up and rub right off. I then sanded the marker down and polished it up real nice, it looked pretty good to be honest. I also polished the internals where the bolt slides and so on. I had a drop forwards on mine also so I could tuck the marker as close to me as possible, I had a J&J 12 inch ceramic barrel, and an empire loader. everyone else had their Autocockers, Impulse's, ect ... but I preffered to stay with my basic marker ^_^

I'd like to start playing again but I don't have the money to support it, I spent 50 bucks every weekend just on paint lol

I do recommend you spend a bit of money on a mask to get a good one, I regret buying my cheapo mask, my lense would fog up so bad :)

Also, the worse shot I ever took was when I was squated down behind a barracade, I'd look out every so often but at one point I became lazy and sat there quite a while before looking from behind it again and before I know it another guy just straight up ran and jumped right over me, I look up at him flying over me and get marked right on my throat :D

          I miss it .... :(

          HAVE FUN MAN!

Haha good ole tipmann 98 custom, man I rocked those guns hard like 6 years ago. I loved mine. I have a nice smaller company gun collecting dust in my closet, probably should really sell it.

I played a bunch of woodsball Saturday in the pouring rain. Only got hit twice :P. I was tempted to buy the Tipmann A5 that morning, but gear gets expensive fast.

start playing speedball in a few months, then you'll really be addicted.

We use to play with a whole bunch of people out in the woods.

Capture the flag, loser team chugs beers!

I sniped out my friend from the reflection off a Coors can once. (he was sitting in a shrub)

                  Good times!!

I started playing about 5 years ago with a spyder in the woods with my friends, now i have a few e-autocockers(thousands invested) but i have not played in over a year. I left the woodsball crowd when I started playing speedball and tournaments and then my tournament friends (my team) stopped playing and sold their stuff, I tried to put togther another team but the only guys i could get were terrible and we got destroyed horribly (3 on 3, the only games we won were the ones where i single handedly eliminated the other team). I have not played since and I would love to get back into it but I dont have any time to play until the summer.

and just for fun, this is my gun thats in working order:

It would be a turtle cocker if it were made by turtle cockers, but I made this in metal shop (from a body with the bores already honed). All i did was the slide, the barrel, milled the body, modified the hammer and made a cocking pin.
