    Crazy snowmobilers skimming water video!

I have been snowmobiling for years and have heard of people skimming long distances.

    This is crazy!

      that was insane!
they looked like they were pretty comfortable just sitting on the snowmobiles going across the water.

That was an awesome movie. Funny how the one guy lost his. I always thought you could only do this for like 30 feet and then you were in trouble. Who the hell needs jetskies any more haha

I think the world record is like 15 miles or something. Got to be doing at least 70 though to keep it up. They even hold races where they only race on water. Crazy stuff.

As I started watching it I thought "Looks fun.. but it would suck if something caused you to bog down and lose speed over the water."

About that time the 3rd guy started to slow down and lost his jet ski to the bottom of the lake. :(

You hear about the local guy who died this year?

2 of them were coming back across a lake late at night and didn't realize they were skimming. Did it for ~1.5 miles I think(?) then one realized and slowed... he drowned and hasn't been found. The other kept it pinned and made it to shore.
                      Below the radar...

Apparently the one that sunk blew it's motor, but was recovered later by a diver.
