What I find amazing is how bad things like this always seem to happen following an event that deviates from the normal flow of life.. and how the bad event would not have happened if this "distraction" was not there. Reading you story brought back so many flashbacks of when I was a kid up until the most recent couple of months.. and when your story started out with, "My friends and I found a motor-scooter in the dumpster and decided to get it running..." I could almost predict the end. I figured you would say something to the effect of the motor-scooter blowing up or catching on fire or something like that.
Which stands the reason why boring people never have any good stories to tell. Some people have no sense of adventure and they walk the straight and narrow path and nothing ever happens to them. But the rest of us probably have a story like this where it starts off with, "my friends and I found some firecrackers on the soccer field that had short fuses on them" or "we were out camping and we found a box of shotgun shells so we decided to throw them on the fire.."
But what would life be without a few bad things happening as a result of bad decisions?Comment
