Does any of your stuff ever just POOF! and its gone, you won it, you paid it. then it never comes and you check your eBay and paypal and its not on record?
Im really fed up with that fuckn place. any one else feel like this or am i just having some shitty luck?

so there isn't really any other way.. then send a check or money order. all bullshit.

I never have problems either. You just have to be careful, and smart about what you buy and who you buy from. Always, always send a message to the seller to ask a question, even if you don't really need an answer to what you ask, just see if somebody is there and if they have their shit together.

I have had that happen to me once.. but the other way around. I sold something on ebay for $400. I got the money via paypal but I could not find anything on the winning bidder. I contacted every person on the bidder list and every single one of them claimed that they were outbid on my item and had not sent me any money. I was hoping that the winning bidder would look the item up again and attempt to make contact with me but I never heard anything else about it.

My only guess is that ebay and paypal insured the transaction, gave the bidder the benefit of the doubt and gave him a refund but never came looking for me.

Usually if I buy something online (not using ebay) I will make sure of 2 things- #1. The company has a phone number and a live body on the other end. And #2. they are a US based company. I prefer to actually order by phone if I shop online, however, if they only take online orders I will usually call back to confirm that they got my order.

Up until last night I had not had issues with either Paypal or Ebay.

I listed a pair of cycling shorts on Ebay last night but stated in my auction listing that I would NOT accept credit card payments through Paypal. (I refuse to pay AN ADDITIONAL 3% FEE ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER FEES!). So I get up this morning to check my auction and it's been removed for violation of Ebay policy. Motherfuckers! I am pissed. I have included that statement in past auctions, but I guess the Ebay police finally caught me.

I am going to try to send the shorts back to Performance Bicycle and even though I've worn them, I think they'll refund my money minus a restocking fee or something.

I will NOT be accepting ANY more Paypal payments in the future though, and dammit I'm pissed. They suck forcing people into paying them more money.

Anyone know of an alternative form of electronic payment that doesn't require you to pay them too?

Never got a chance to find out. My acct was hacked, I got abunch hate mail. This all happened after I was spamed and forwarded it to ebay for verification. I then spent numerous hours trying to "fix it" and finally just gave up. Funny part is I never bought or sold one thing.

I've never had trouble with ebay and paypal, but their fees suck and that is why I hate them. Everytime I sell something it cost between 10-20% of the final bid in fees.

Edit: Once I bought an item for $145, seller never sent it. Paypal said they were only able to recover $120. Ok $25 to some million dollar company = no big deal, $25 to me = 3 hours labor for nothing, round of golf, case of beer, 1/2 cell phone bill.
