    Baby On Board Sign

I was at the dealership today buying a set of air caps with the roundel logo on them when I noticed some soccer-mom type driving an X5 that had one of those notorious "BABY ON BOARD" signs.

I thought they went out with the 80's but apparently not. What I find funny is how people with these signs somehow think that other people are going to change their driving habits simply because they see the sign. Sometimes seeing that sign makes me want to run into them even more.. so that way when we are on the side of the road exchanging information, I can say, "I'm sorry lady.. I didn't see your sign!"

      Are you a parent?
I laughed at those signs until we had our son 2 months ago. You wouldn't think it would be possible to love another human being as much as you do your own children. Every time we take him in the car, I drive slower, stop and pause at every stop sign, and otherwise drive very defensively. I wouldn't go as far as getting one of those signs, but I can understand why people do, wheter or not they do any good.

Wow, I saw one of those for the first time yesterday on a car. Funny you should mention it.

It's even more worthless when you consider the fact that most of the "soccer moms" drive around in 5 ton extended Suburbans, Tahoes and shit. At least they do here in the state of TX.

"Baby on board, how I adore. That sign on my car's window pane."

              Name that song. :)

I find the signs to be ridiculous simply because we should ALWAYS drive carefully and defensively when in and among traffic. I am not going to change the way I drive simply because someone put a sign on their car. And if having a baby is what made you take driving more seriously, then that is a good thing because a car that is driven improperly can kill ANYONE. Not just your precious kid.

I mean if you think about it, nobody ever goes down the road minding their own business and then says to themself, "Oh golly! I am such a rotten driver. Let me take it easy for a few minutes until that car is out of my sight"
