Somebody should have tried to take that guy out before he had a chance to hurt that many people. One man with a gun should not be able to shoot over 50 people. 50 people with their bare hands can easily overcome a guy with a gun but because everyone is so scared and selfish, nobody wants to say, "Let's roll!" They would rather cower down, close their eyes and wait to get shot. If people started fighting back, less gun crimes like this would occur.Comment

I don't know how the dorms are in Virginia, but at UT Austin the halls are skinny and long. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
In order to get a group together and say "Let's roll", you need a bunch of people, a bit of time and some planning. Chances are that shooting happened so fast that there would be no way a group of people could organize and fight back. A single unarmed person would not have stood a chance just running alone towards a guy with a gun. They'd just become another casualty.
I think it's fucking stupid to blame the unarmed people , who were unexpectedly shot on an average day, for being shot.
The only coward in this story is the shooter. End of story.

I agree with part of what you said. I too thought to myself, had one or two or however many rushed this guy, not that many people would have lost their lives. I wouldn't go as far as to judge people for how they react, or for that matter, don't react, to a potentially fatal situation.Comment

Sadly the 7:15 am shooting that occured in the dorm was not announced by the college, it seems that they wanted to keep it quiet.
This lead to people attending class and the second shooting incident occured. I recall a quote that stated a student was heading to class at 9:00 two buildings away from the shootings and there was no warning over the PA system that VaTech has in place inside and outside the campus buildings.
The rate keeps climbing too. I see 32, 33 now. Such a tragic day, let us not take this day in vain, remember that life is precious.Reminiscing...Comment
