More on the misjudging of the situation by Virginia Tech:

Students bitterly complained that there were no public-address announcements on campus after the first burst of gunfire. Many said the first word they received from the university was an e-mail more than two hours into the rampage — around the time the gunman struck again.

Virginia Tech President Charles Steger said authorities believed that the shooting at the dorm was a domestic dispute and mistakenly thought the gunman had fled the campus.

"We had no reason to suspect any other incident was going to occur," he said.

He defended the university's handling of the tragedy, saying: "We can only make decisions based on the information you had on the time. You don't have hours to reflect on it."

I wish I could believe you Jordan, but again, I said this in another thread... If 9/11 was an inside job- is it so hard to believe other events are distractions as well? I mean, really- what's the best way to get a population to do what you want them to do? It's not this "electoral process" that we were taught in school. Oh yeah, I met ~15 VT guys/girls in the engineering department (where all this happened) a couple months ago at the ASME conference (American Society of Mech. Engrs.). Ugh, I hope all of them are safe through this mess.

just suggesting an idea. I believe that 911 was an inside job, and I don't quite trust the current story about columbine either to be honest... especially when there are associated press articles that say "6 of the 13 killed" in columbine "could have been shot by SWAT bullets". It's a fucked up world we live in. I'm not about to believe anything that this administration has to say.
