    installation free AIM program

for those of you who aren't allowed to download and install software at work and who arent allowed to us any instant messaging programs...

there's aim express but i find that's buggy as shit and doesn't work very well.

luckily for me I have trillian and can install whatever I want :D

Aim express has never given me any problems. I also like it simply because I don't want to install any of that crap on my PC. Most of this "free" stuff contains what I call "nagware" where they are constantly reminding you to go to their website or they want you to check for the latest update.

Yeah, you don't necessarily need a flash drive, you can run the applications right out of a folder on your desktop. The idea with the USB drive is that you put your apps on there and then you will have them wherever you go.

I think they are great. I use portable Firefox and portable Gaim myself.

From a development standpoint, meebo blows my mind.

Yeah I saw meebo, I still don't like giving my login out to a random place... but I don't got much to lose anyways.

I mostly use portable software, works great at school

which is the only reason I would use it... no point in just using it on ur computer

The people that work on computers which restrict the installation of applications could simply save the applications and run them locally. This is what I meant when I said that some people may not want to use the USB drive.
