I remember when they filmed the (most recent) movie here in Baton Rouge. It was insane! I remember seeing trailer fulls of General Lees being moved to wherever they kept them.

I got a Mopar magazine around here that tells what happened to the Chargers, although i can't remember what it said. I got a few of the die cast that was issued a few years back, and i got the slot car track from when the 1981 IIRC with the K-mart price tags on it. Is there any shots of the rear of the car that sold? I want to see if they put the vinyl top trim on it like the originals on the show.

I used to be a big dukes of hazzard buff when i was in middle school, cause i didn't have a license, nor a life apparently. regardless, i read on a fan site that out of the 300 some odd chargers they went through, they used to cut the roofs off and hastily weld the same roof on every car to save time. In some episodes, so they say, you can see a distinct horizontal line through the middle of the c-pillar in which would spray paint over mopar orange. They would also re-use the doors. I never really took the time to see if it was true or not. Makes sense, i guess. Twas a sin they had to waste all those gorgeous chargers.

I built 4 General lee models in 8th grade, and I have a MIB Dukes of hazzard watch that plays dixie on the hour (the rare kind) WITH instructions. i fucking win. (or lose, however you wanna play the game i suppose).

I see that was a A/C car, and i wonder why they used a motor plate to mount the engine in it?

Sadly, I read somewhere this ain't even close to an original one. Bo Duke (anybody even care what his real name is?) has bought and built a half dozen of these since the show died.

This is a cool car, but its' price is equal to a real Hemi 'Cuda ragtop, or 6-8 real Hemi 'Cuda hardtops in immaculate shape. I know what I'd rather have.

That would be pretty awesome as long as all the bids are legit.

I saw one of the show cars at a local muscle car show when I was a kid and was amazed. I always came home and watched reruns of The Dukes of Hazzard on TNN.
