So, I realized that there are lots of guitarists on the board, and you guys seem to like my DIY articles. Well, here is another one. Pantera was the band that got me into guitar and playing. Darrell was also a pioneer for metal playing, so for my own personal reflection on his untimely passing, I decided to build a replica of his very famous "Dean From Hell." I realize that Dean actually makes a replica, but I wanted to do my own. So here we are with the pics.

Dean ML as purchased off Craigslist..

So we strip it down and sand the body. I realize Darrells Dean was actually a set neck, but, hey, we gotta work with what we can work with.

So, we put the base coat of blue on. The color I chose is actually "Molson Blue" (of the beer company).

Then we airbrush the black "fade" on.

Then we airbrush the background of the lightning.

Then, by hand, we paint the actual lightning bolts onto the guitar.

Then we shoot the clear on the guitar.

Then we reassemble the guitar, with the right parts, and correct pickups. The Floyd Rose needs to be switched out to a black one, and a few other minor hardware corrections, and we will have a decent replica.

Hope you guys like!!!
