    Another "Have You Ever" Thread

Have you ever seen another E30 that was not a buddies or relatives, more than once, and it stuck with you?

at my school last year, a hispanic kid had a 325ic and it was a total piece of shit. total disgrace to an E30 (kinda like my no front end). the top didnt go up, or he never put it up cause it was always down. the interior was shot to shit, and the car sounded like shit. i have never seen so many cracks in an e30 dash.

there is a white E30 M3 that is owned by a father of a girl in the band. and it looks nice and stock, but the guy was a total douche the one time i tried to talk to him about his car when i saw him at a gas station. i have probably seen him about 10 times outside of the school parking lot, and about 50 times in the school parking lot. only talked to him once, but ive always wanted to ask more. if only he wasnt suck an asshole.

i have seen plenty of other e30's cruising around, but those are the only two that have stuck with me.

There's a bone stock red 325i that passes me each day on the way to work... Gorgeous paint. Driven by an older woman...

There's also a DS 318is that I have followed up the highway a couple times, once in my blue 6 and once in my E28. I don't think the guy is a member here, but it's a sweet looking car.

There's a guy with a red 325e [I think] with exhaust in my town that always revs at me, haha.

I also saw a white late model with mods when I was pulling out of In N out once, really wanted to catch him and check it out but never found him.

Many of my neighbors have E30's. The neighborhood was built for during the yuppie era of the 80's and most of the people who moved in around that time were affluent people. I guess during that time period the E30 was a hot little car.

So in the spirit of "have you ever" I would say that I see many of them all the time. There is a car at the impound lot that I want to get my hands on. I just want the car for the plastic bumpers, side skirts, etc. so I can make my I look like an IS.

about 3 days after I picked up my bimmer I was at BK in my town and parked next to a white e30 cabrio. Saw it later in the day, too. But that's not at all why it stuck out in my head. It was beat to shit. It needed a completly new paint job, the soft top looked like it'd leak in the rain, the leather was cracked, the bumpers dented in various places..... It was sad.

Now I know at the end of the day it's still an e30 so it's still an amazing car, but dear god WHY would you let that happen?

There's an 'interesting' e30 that's almost always parked close to my street. It's had a for sale sign on it twice now, and removed twice. Diamantschwarz Metallic '90 Mtech 2 cabrio, 2.7i 185hp engine from the factory, 260km/h dash with 'mtech' logo inside (stock 325i dashes are 240km/h), BBS RS1 17s mounted, with 205s on the front and 225s on the rear.

If I didn't already do so much to my car, I would've snapped it up without thinking twice.

The mind set here is similar to that of any other car. Once it gets to the point where it gets to a certain age and milage and its no longer cost effective to keep maintaining it, you just drive it until the wheels fall off. Before I inherited my uncle's E30, he was pulling it behind his RV. He had 2 new cars so there was no point in him trying to maintain a car almost 20 years old.

I don't think that it is ever cost effective to keep up an E30. But that is why we love them. It is the best way to spend every weekend in the warm months.

I think that with all of the time and money spent on my car, I could have bought a brand new 2007 325i. But it wouldn't be quite the same.

There is a black early model 325i that that i see im my dorm parking lot all the time, i try to park next to it as much as possible, but i have no idea who drives it. It does have rear seat headrests and sport seats though.

There is also a white 318i, i dont see it as often but its in the same parking lot.

In another parking lot there is a silver eta that i see most days, dont know anything about it.

Now on the road I had my accident on there is a red e30 m3 that I see occasionally parked outside, the house it is at is the exact spot that I lost control at.

Ok - mentally rewind back to 1990...

I'm 17, and two blocks away from me is this cute as hell MILF. She drove a black e30 m3 with BBS rims.

Of course I had my mint e21...not too shabby back in '91. I was in High School - one body style down was considered pimp - like being 17 and driving an e46 now - come one - you know the drill....

...After waxing it - I'd always get people asking me if it was the *new* BMW...

Anyways, I had just gotten a subscription to the BMWCCA - and had learned that bimmers always do the headlight flash to each other(a practice that I do when I see any ///M car - unless I'm in LA) - so I always did it to her. And she would do it back - what a kick ass chick - ....

Oh the socks I had to throw away cause of her....
