This is a copy of a MySpace bulletin going around right now. This kid is from my city of Bend, and his family needs all the help they can get. Not only is Tyler in the hospital ailed by the things below, but shortly after that, his family's house was burglarized and trashed, and they only lived in a small mobile home.
No one is asking for any of your money here or anything like that. All that's being asked is that if you feel so inclined, post this bulletin on MySpace, or if you don't have one, do it with email. This isn't some bunch of nameless, faceless little kids overseas who you're always being told you have to rescue from their third-world poverty. This is a real kid whose life and his families lives have taken a horrible turn, and they need whatever help they can get.
14 year old, Bend resident, Tyler Ekland broke a vertebra in his neck on Sunday, April 1st, 2007 while practicing a run at the USASA National Snowboard Championships at Northstar Resort near Lake Tahoe. He is currently not able to breathe on his own and is paralyzed. All Central Oregon U.S. Bank branches are accepting donations in Tyler Ekland’s name to help with medical expenses.
So Tylers family has been nominated for Extreme Makeover Home edition and there are petitions everywhere to be signed, but I was thinking about how many millions of people get on myspace everyday who could help out this family just by putting their name down. Please if you would like to be a part of helping Tyler Eklund and his family get a new home put your name below. Keep this going we need alot of signatures the more signatured the better chance of a new home for Tyler and his family.
