    conservatives

    I'm a conservative.

I'm proud of what I stand for, who I vote for, etc.

    Anyone else feel this way?

Do I hate democrats/liberals?? NO... not at all. A lot of times I'm more moderate than conservative. But I will still segment my self this way..

It seems as though it's pretty trendy/cool to be anti-american/conservative/and capitalistic. That bothers me.

I'm starting this thread simply to say that there are "conservatives" umong this collective and we have are not ashamed of what we believe in.

I will argue until I'm blue in the facte for what I believe in. I just don't see the need for argument unless I am calling someone out for their position, which in NO way am I or hopefully anyone else is not doing in this thread.

Conservatives/Republicans I hope you join me in comming together. There may only be 10 of you, but with the current threads/comments being made on this site in a hateful manner I think it is totally reasonable to make the counter argument.

Mods - locking of this thread without CLEAR provocation would be discriminatory (as conservatives are in fact the MINORITY on this site) and therefore these actions should be carefully reviewed prior to implementation. Thanks!

I invite any and all to comment. Hateful remarks on either side will be viewed as just that; hateful. I personally do not side with any of the following remarks that may be made in this thread unless I explicitly say so. Thanks!

If you didn't already tell by my statements, I am pretty conservative. I also do not hate liberals, but get so frustrated with their "feelings" and "free handouts" BS.

I will agree with you, I am proud of who I am, what I stand for, how I believe in this country, and in the country itself.

The United States of America is the best country in the world, and will continue this with the correct leadership (republican obviously).

                  Personally?

It's pretty hard to type into a quick reply box honestly... but I would expect that it would be the same for people who vote democractic.

I have an economics/tax/finance background. My schooling has taught me to optimize profits and be a business owner - LEGALLY (Mind you all, I do go to one of the most LIBERAL colleges on the West coast... only one being more liberal is Berkley (yay Kev!))

Personally, for me to answer your question would take more space than I have here or time to answer... but if you really want to know on a specific issue then ask. I'm completely willing to answer candidly, but to ask what constitutes a conservative is a pretty tough thing to define, and I think anyone who thinks that they can definitively quantify that is ignoring the vast possibilities that one must own when they broadly define themselves...

Pretty much sums me up. I don't know if I'm a conservative or not, but I agree with what Trent said.

see, the funny thing is the word conservative has been boggled down into 27 mis-meanings. are you really conservative? how so. be specific. what are your views on fiscal policy, foreign relations, social issues (homos)?

you sound more like a libertarian.

im a conservative. i really have nothing else to add to this thread. it sounds like a very interesting thread. although i do not have the time to devote myself to it. i will say that the continuous bashing of our leaders is getting quite embarrassing. one thing i would like to say before i leave this thread and never come back ( too much shit going on ). i see things today, that are just childish and dissrespectful. i just saw an advertisement for a new television show called, 'lil bush'. i realize that freedom of speech is one of the ideaso ur country is founded on. but sometimes people cross the line. im embarrassed to see how other countries view us. making childish cartoons to bash our leader, the most powerful person in the world. reguardless of how you feel about his policies, and what he's been doing. the man should still be respected a little more than this. i cant really explain it. its just something that has been on my mind lately. i wouldnt say i hate liberals. not by any means. but i will say that god damn, sometimes they drive me crazy. haha.

yes i have. that has been around longer than i have, its something i have grown used to. although i must admit, it really doesnt impress me either way. this cartoon on television is just the next step i suppose. although i strongly feel its another step in the wrong direction, and in poor taste. dont get me wrong, im not all that old fashioned. i am infact, 22 years old. ive pushed the envelope in my life before, but even i can see the difference between 'poking fun', and being disrespectful. again, its hard to explain for me. just something i feel.
