    CIS - Continuous Ink System???

I had to buy a printer that would print on DVD's directly..

But this thing BURNS through ink so SO so fast...

    Anyone try one of these?

It's basically a bunch of container for a large amount of ink, and then tiny tubes that conect to ink cartages that feed the ink in.

    Anyone try these?

    Thanks!

At my work we have a setup like this for our big plotter, so we only have to change it around once a year. works pretty flawlessly.

    you should try it.

Yeah.. I use this thing all the time in my Epson R220 which does CD's and I swear by it. This thing is the TRUTH. Plus I am always printing up flyers and posters for my cousin's band and most of his stuff has a black or a dark background so I get plenty of bang for the buck. I paid $140 for my kit and even if I didn't buy the ink to refill it, the system alone pays for itself 10 times over. By the time I buy the gallon bottles of ink to refill the system, I am saving money hand over fist.

But be forewarned- Sometimes air gets trapped in the system (i.e. if you let it run out of ink or you accidentally knock it over or if the hoses get caught up around the carriage) and you will eventually have to learn how to recharge the system so that it works again. So plan on having ink covered hands every so often as you learn how to correct the things that you are NOT supposed to do. They gave me a list of warnings and sooner or later I eventually ignored it. The company that I bought it from has always been nice enough to fix it for me or send me a new one for no charge, however, there have been times where I needed my printer NOW and I could not wait for Fed Ex.. so the people were very helpful in walking me through the repair process over the phone.

I think I might have been going through 100 sets of printer cartriges a month. (slight exageration) but since I bought one of these gizmos I never had to use anything else.

It's an off-brand model made by some guy who buys the raw parts from china and then he manufactures the system in his basement. www.ink-pro.com is the website and you could probably call them up directly and talk to the guy. They are very friendly and helpful company.

                Thank you!!!

Oh BTW, my prineter is the newer s260 - I tried to find a 220, I hear they are much better on ink.

Yeah but the 220 has only 2 speeds.. slow and slower. I went back and got the 260 that I originally plannd on getting in the first place and it runs really good.
