    coins on ebay, wtf

    r3v is running slow tonight so i was testing out firefox and caught myself staring at ebays front page and saw the coins link.. what the hell, lets take a look.

    ...ok, nothing really interesting here... a penny... $183... huh

        Its a double-die penny meaning that the machine that stamped it out hit the coin twice causing the image to be slightly doubled or "blurry". Its pretty much the same way as if you attempted to rubber stamp something twice in the same spot.

          Incorrect. The error actually occurs when they are making either master dies, working hubs or working dies. Read here:



          Just a little fact, many coins made to be collected and not circulated are stamped twice on purpose to produce better detail.
