I work with a dog rescue here in SOCAl, and some of the sweetest things are the little ones that have had a rough go at it down TJ way. (of course the big ones are pretty amazing too)
My little Ali is AMAZING! She only barks when I tease her by blowing in her ears, and even then it is all play. I also take her out to job sites, and all the sub contractors love her.
Not all little dogs are yappy. You just have to work with them.

the movie "benji" was loosley based on biscus's life. biscus was scheduled to star in the movie but had prior commitments and had to back out

SO CUTE! My fiance's parent's have 2 shih tzu's and I love those dogs.

Amen to everyone who has said little dogs are only yappy if they're allowed to be that way. My mom has a scottie, he's a sweetheart, and yeah he can bark a bit to much soemtimes, but it's because he was abused for the 1st 6 years of his life, and he's really protective of her because she was the first person to show him love. He sounds like a rottie when he barks though, my mom can leave her car unlocked with him in it and NO ONE will touch it. (and no, she doesn't leave him in there very long at all if it's hot, he usually stays home on hot days).

My neighbor has a chihuahua and he is the sweetest, most mild tempered dog I've ever met. Little dogs rock if you train them right!

Molly is not yappy... She only barked when we were playing outside in the yard and a neighbor has a weiner dog and the weiner dog angrily charged molly and started pulling on leash and barking at molly... Molly barked back :)


Proper Training keeps dogs from being yappy... Some natural are and if you just let them keep doing it they will never stop :)
